This booklet was created to give students in the 1960s a basic understanding of what a computer is and what they are used for People who work with computers in various roles are pictured.

A flow chart (a popular programming tool at the time) is described along with binary numbers, machine code, and symbolic code.  Various media (punch cards, paper tapes, magnetic tape, and the MICR numbers on checks are illustrated along with some information on how text and numbers are encoded on each.

Split across pp 18-19 is a picture of a mainframe computer system with the GE 415 CPU.  A page has been added to the end with the split images adjacent to each other.
