Figaro Engineering – Innovative Gas Sensing Technologies

They design and develop gas sensors and gas detection equipment. These are used in building safety, automotive, air quality and HVAC applications.

In 1968 Figaro Engineering brought semiconductor gas sensors to the industry by their Research and Development Efforts. These are required to prevent hazard and health issues at Home and the Workplace.

Products include residential gas and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors, breath alcohol analyzers, carbon dioxide (CO2) monitoring systems. They have sensor to detect General air contaminants, Solvent vapors and Methane.

TGS823 shown on the right side is a Alcohol Solvent vapors detector with a range 50 – 10,000ppm. Power Consumption is just 660mW and has a Ceramic base resistant to severe environments. Industrial usage

The sensing element of Figaro gas sensors is a tin dioxide (SnO2) semiconductor which has low conductivity in clean air. In the presence of a detectable gas, the sensor’s conductivity increases depending on the gas concentration in the air.

The product shown in the left is the NGM2611-E13 Methane Sensor with a 500 – 10,000ppm range and 280mW consumption. It is a Precalibrated module with TGS2611 and temperature compensation circuit for residential gas detectors.
